Atleast 14 presidential aspirants have returned to the Electoral Commission forms including signatures seconding them for verification ahead of nomination early next month for the 2021 race.
Paul Bukenya, the commission’s acting spokesperson says they are considering only 100 signatures from atleast 98 districts presented and it does not matter how many endorsements one presents for verification.
Those who have returned forms include President Museveni, of the ruling NRM party, Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi under the National Unity Platform party, Charles Bbaale of the Ecological Party of Uganda, and Elizabeth Lugudde, an independent candidate.
