Hundreds Bid Farewell to Florence Kaihura Remember her for Faith and Unity Clare N Mourners have gathered in Mbale Cell, Kyenjojo District, to bid farewell to the late Florence Kaihura, aged 66, who passed away on May 6th, 2026, at Kabarole Hospital where she had been receiving treatment. Mrs. Kaihura, mother to Claire Kaihura of Jubilee Radio, succumbed to diabetes, a condition she had battled for the past 16 years. Addressing hundreds of mourners, Rev. Paul Kamanyire urged Christians to use their time on earth wisely by reflecting and preparing for their return to God, a day known only to Him. He emphasized that eternal life is not automatic, but is reserved for those who walk in Christ and live according to God’s will. He encouraged believers to remain firmly rooted in Christ, just as they often cling to worldly possessions. Family members, including Claire Kaihura, described the late as a kind, hardworking, and disciplined woman of strong faith, who dedicated her life to preaching the word of God and caring for the well-being of others. They noted that she raised her children in love, unity, and a strong religious foundation. The head of the family, Duncan Douglas Kaihura, remembered his mother as a devoted agriculturalist who ensured her family always had food and generously shared her harvest with neighbors. He described her as a unifying figure and called on family members to uphold her legacy by loving one another, raising their children well, and remaining united in Christ. Mrs. Florence Kaihura got married to Rev. Kaihura in 1978. She is survived by 12 children, 37 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Rev. Kaihura, was laid to rest on May 9th, 2021 nearly the same date his wife has now been buried, five years later. Some relatives believe her passing may have been influenced by the stress and grief following the loss of her husband, with whom she shared a close bond. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
