The Minister of State for Labour and Industrial Development who doubles as the incumbent Rushenyi County Member of Parliament in Ntungamo district is tomorrow expected to reappear in Ntungamo Chief Magistrate court on seven counts including attempted murder.

Rukutana was on 7th September 2020 remanded to Kitalya government prison in Wakiso by the Ntungamo Chief Magistrate Sarah Mponye and his bail application is expected to be heard tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party electoral commission chairman, Dr Tanga Odoi is also expected to meet Minister Rukutana’s and Naomi Kabasharira’s teams as well as declaring final results tomorrow, giving the final pronouncement on whether Kabasharira who is currently leading with 44 votes trounced Rukutana or didn’t since results from 8 villages are not yet announced.

On Rukutana’s fate, some eyewitnesses in Rugongi village where the viral incident occurred say there are untold stories because he neither attacked nor shot Dan Rweiburingyi who is currently receiving treatment in Kampala.

Rukutana’s son Twongyeirwe Ronald stressed that Dan and his group caused the entire fracas by blocking the way to Rukutana’s home on the fateful day of Saturday, September 5,2020.

‘I was with my cousin brother in a car approaching home, a Rav 4 came speeding and parked in front and a premio also parked behind us. When they blocked us, people came and threw stones at their cars and they drove a short distance in front of us. They threatened that they could burn or shoot us and i was prompted to call dad,’ he added.

Besides other stories surrounding this fate which are being investigated, the escort removed a magazine as Rukutana grabbed the gun and this answers why he never shot despite the anger he had.

Dan contested against Rukutana on Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket as Rushenyi MP in 2016 but he was later successfully convinced by Kabasharira to join NRM before becoming her staunch supporter in the recently concluded NRM parliamentary primary elections conducted on September 4,2020.
