Kabarole District Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Mrs Shiba Ntungire, has pledged to strengthen collaboration between the district local government and development partners to improve service delivery and promote effective implementation of development programmes.
Ntungire made the pledge while addressing development partners during a meeting organised by Kabarole District Local Government at the district headquarters in Kitumba today.
She commended the development partners for the work they have been doing in supporting communities across the district, noting that their contributions are important in promoting local development and improving the welfare of residents.
Ntungire assured the partners of the district administration’s commitment to working closely with them to ensure that their programmes are effectively implemented and aligned with the district’s development priorities.
She emphasised the importance of maintaining strong working relationships between the district leadership and development organisations to enhance coordination, accountability and the delivery of services to communities.
Meanwhile, Kabarole Assistant Resident District Commissioner Mike Mukiibi thanked the district local government for organising the meeting, describing it as an important platform for strengthening engagement between the government and development partners.
Mukiibi, however, raised concerns about some non-governmental organisations operating in the district, particularly those that allegedly fail to pay rent and other operational fees required for their activities.
He called on all NGOs operating without valid operational licences to comply with the relevant requirements and ensure that their activities are conducted within the established legal and administrative frameworks.
Mukiibi further urged development partners to work closely with the district’s technical personnel when planning and implementing their programmes.
He noted that coordination with the relevant district departments would help improve accountability, avoid duplication of activities and ensure that interventions respond to the actual needs of communities.
The Assistant RDC also stressed the importance of maintaining effective communication between development partners and district authorities to promote transparency and strengthen government oversight of development activities.
On her part, Kabarole District Planner Binta Robert pledged the district’s full support to development partners, assuring them of continued cooperation to ensure that their programmes achieve meaningful and sustainable results.
Binta emphasised the need for development partners to coordinate their activities with the district planning department so that their interventions complement government priorities and contribute to the overall development agenda of Kabarole District.
The meeting brought together district officials and development partners to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation, addressing operational challenges and improving the implementation of development programmes across the district.
