The State Minister for Rwenzori-Luwero, Alice Kaboyo, has handed over four classroom blocks at Katebwa High School in Bunyangabu District.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, she urged the community to invest in education for a better future asking residents to send their children to school, saying government has provided the same services it gives other schools.
Kaboyo said government will keep extending social services to mountainous areas like Katebwa, whose people, she noted, played a major role in the liberation struggle.
At the same function, Peter Musinguzi, the chairperson of Bunyangabu District Local Council, pledged to deliver services to the voters who elected him and said he will lobby for more classrooms to accommodate more students.
Bwambale Phanahas, chairperson of the war veterans association, commended government for fulfilling its pledges in mountainous areas, and called on people to embrace the peace and unity brought by the National Resistance Movement.
Meanwhile, the Bunyangabu District Inspector of Schools, Grace Kajumba, has urged parents to closely monitor children who have finished their exams during the holidays, warning that unsupervised movement could expose them to risks. She encouraged parents to keep the children busy with productive activities such as digging and grazing animals.
