It was a joyful celebration yesterday at Virika Cathedral as Jubilee Radio presenter and Fort Portal Arsenal Diehards President, Fortunate Katungi, exchanged vows in Holy Matrimony with his bride, Ronnet Karungi Baibo.
The wedding was graced by several priests, religious, family, and friends of the couple.
Prioritising prayer
Presiding over the ceremony, Rev. Fr. Moses Mutangirizi, parish priest of Bukwali, commended the couple for embracing the sacrament of marriage, one of the most challenging yet rewarding commitments for young couples. He encouraged them to root their marriage in prayer, especially seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in times of difficulty.
Fr. Mutangirizi further urged the bride to nurture humility and attentiveness, drawing inspiration from Mary at the wedding feast of Cana, and to remain steadfast in prayer through the rosary. To the groom, he advised being a loving protector, provider, and prayerful companion, reminding him that through Holy Matrimony the two had become one.
The celebrations continued with a lively reception at Jo Palz Motel. In her remarks, Hon. Linda Irene Mugisa, Woman Member of Parliament for Fort Portal, encouraged Katungi to apply the leadership and unity skills he has demonstrated with the Arsenal Diehards Association in building and strengthening his new family.
In their message of gratitude, Mr. and Mrs. Katungi thanked all well-wishers for their generous support and asked for continued spiritual, emotional, and practical support as they embark on their married life together
