Kyaka Isaza has booked its place in the grand finals of the Tooro Kingdom MTN Kabode Masaza Tournament (4th Edition, 2025), after a 1–1 draw with Mwenge South at Katoosa Holy Grounds yesterday. The result saw Kyaka advance with 4 aggregate points, while Mwenge South bowed out with just 1.
Mwenge South had needed a convincing 4–0 victory to qualify but fell short of the target.
Kyaka, a consistent contender that has reached the finals at least three times, will now face Fort Portal Isaza in the championship match on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Coach Barigye Innocent expressed confidence in his side’s preparation, saying the team is well-trained and determined to outshine Fort Portal Isaza in the final.
Meanwhile, Burahya will take on Mwenge South in the third-place playoff on the same day, with both sides competing for a consolation prize from the main sponsors, MTN.
Owisaza Omutaleesa of Mwenge South commended the Kingdom and its people for turning up in large numbers to support local talent. He also encouraged the community to embrace the tournament’s theme: kicking HIV/AIDS out of the Kingdom by 2030.
MTN Regional Head of Sales and Marketing, Dennis Harindimana, applauded the success of the tournament so far and pledged MTN Uganda’s continued support for Tooro Kingdom as part of its commitment to giving back to the community.
