Residents of Ntoroko in Tooro Kingdom have made an appeal to the Kingdom’s monarch, his majesty Dr.Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, to intensify efforts in promoting cultural values and norms among the youth.
Led by the LC1 Chairperson Happy Moses during the Royal tour held at St. Andrew’s Church of Uganda in Ntoroko county, the residents expressed concern about the erosion of cultural heritage and its potential impact on the community’s identity.
They urged the King to implement programs that will educate and engage the youth in cultural activities, traditions, and values.
The appeal seeks to preserve Tooro Kingdom’s rich cultural legacy for future generations, With residents optimistic that the King’s involvement will significantly contribute to the cultural revival and development of the region.
Call for scholarships
The residents, equally appealed to the King to intervene in providing scholarships to their children who are currently in school, decrying high costs of education as a major challenge facing many families in the area.
The subjects who appealed to the Omukama to promote sports in the area, noted that sports can play a crucial role in keeping the youth occupied and focused, thereby reducing idleness and cries
Cocoa Challenges
In his 5th Royal tour in the Kingdom, King Oyo took a moment to visit Stephen Njura a reknown Cocoa farmer who left the King impressed with his plantation.

Tuesday the king is going to visit Mwenge South, Wednesday Mwenge North, Thursday Kitagwenda and will conclude with Kibale on Friday
