Police in Kabarole District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a boda boda rider who was reportedly killed on Sunday night in Rutete Sub-county.
The deceased has been identified as Tumusiime Enock, 47, a resident of Rusenyi A Village, Rurama Parish in Rutete Sub-county, Kabarole District. He was reportedly attacked and killed by a man identified as Daudi, also a resident of the same village.
The Incident
According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred on November 3, 2025, along the Fort Portal–Kamwenge road near a bar belonging to a one Kemigisa Priscilla, about 15 metres from where the deceased had parked his motorcycle, a Bajaj Boxer registration number UFP 408H.
It is alleged that Daudi left the deceased at the motorcycle and went to drink in Priscilla’s bar. Shortly after, he returned to where he had left the deceased and found him lying on the motorcycle. Witnesses, including Priscilla, observed Daudi push the deceased off the bike, after which he attempted to ride away.
Priscilla reportedly raised an alarm that attracted residents, who intervened and apprehended the suspect before he could escape.
Police responded promptly to the scene, led by the Officer in Charge of CID, the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), and a homicide team. Upon examination, the body was found with a cut wound above the left eye and rigor mortis was incomplete, indicating the victim had died recently. The body was covered with a multi-flowered white bed sheet at the scene.
The deceased’s body was later conveyed to Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital for post-mortem examination, while the suspect was taken into custody to assist with ongoing investigations.
Police confirmed that a case file has been opened as investigations continue to establish the motive behind the killing.
