The leadership of St. Theresa Wekomiire Health Center III in Kyegegwa district has launched a campaign to solicit over 40 million shillings for the purchase of a Complete Blood Count (CBC) machine.
The CBC machine is a crucial diagnostic tool that will enable the health center to conduct accurate and timely blood tests, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of various health conditions, including malaria, anemia, and other blood-related diseases.
During yesterday’s launch held at Wekomiire play ground in Kyegegwa district, at least over 2 million shillings was solicited in cash as the start up toward the purchase of the CBC machine.
According to the health center’s in-charge, Rev. Sr. Ana Mary Nyamahunge, the current lack of a CBC machine has been a significant challenge. She appealed to well-wishers and the general public to support them financially in the noble cause
The CBC machine is expected to reduce referrals to higher-level facilities, decrease waiting times, and improve patient outcomes. It will also enable healthcare workers to make timely and informed decisions about patient care.
