The Bishop of Hoima Catholic Diocese, Vincent Kirabo Amooti, has called on Priests and the lay Christians to comfort and pray for one another, especially during challenging times.
Delivering his homily during the Chrism Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Bujumbura Cathedral, Bishop Kirabo noted that many believers today are burdened with worries, and some have even backslidden in faith.
The Bishop also expressed concern over the growing number of Christians who attend church for prayers but rarely receive the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist challenging priests to encourage the faithful to actively participate in the sacraments.

Bishop Kirabo further emphasized the importance of prayer, reminding believers to “pray without ceasing,” noting that prayer holds great power and that the Gospel is a source of joy that should always be embraced.
He also encouraged Christians to show love in action by visiting the sick, helping the needy, and reaching out to prisoners
Speaking about the significance of the Chrism Mass, the Bishop said it is a celebration for the entire Church, not only ordained priests but all the baptized. He explained that through baptism, the Holy Spirit descends upon believers, making them apostles of Christ.
