Pearl Bank Uganda, formerly Post Bank, has officially relocated to its new premises in Fort Portal City along Rukidi III Street, Plot Number 4.
The relocation follows a major rebranding of the institution into a 100% government-owned Tier I commercial bank, after an announcement made in June 2025 and the issuance of its final license in November 2025.
Speaking earlier today during the official inauguration and blessing of the new offices owned by the Diocese of Fort Portal, Mr. Rodger Barozi, the Pearl Bank Fort Portal Branch Manager, explained that the move reflects the bank’s transition toward modern banking and improved customer service delivery. He noted that the renovated offices are designed in a more updated and accessible manner, making it easier for clients to conveniently access banking services.
Mr. Barozi also commended the Diocese of Fort Portal, under the leadership of Robert K. Muhiirwa Akiiki, for the strong partnership and for providing a more suitable location for the bank’s operations.
More Recognizable location
Rev. Fr. Tadius Musabe, the Diocesan Treasurer, speaking as a client, expressed appreciation for the bank’s innovation and the impressive transformation of the premises. He noted that the new location is more recognizable due to its history, having previously hosted Cooperative Bank and Centenary Bank.
He added that the area is well-known for banking services and is strategically located in a visible and convenient environment.
Fr. Musabe encouraged the bank staff to utilize the new space effectively and to uphold high standards in line with the “Pearl Bank” brand, emphasizing that Ugandans expect excellence associated with the name. He also pledged continued support and strong relations with the Diocese.

Improved Services
Mr. Arthur Mujuni, the Pearl Bank Regional Manager, highlighted that the Fort Portal branch now includes a dedicated banking summit space for customers, in recognition of the city’s rapid growth, especially in tourism and its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product.
He further outlined improved banking services introduced after the rebranding, including the Wendi mobile app, which enables customers to access services conveniently without visiting the bank, as well as cashless fuel payment options.
Mujuni, emphasized that the bank is committed to serving Ugandans more innovatively and efficiently than before.
Healthy Competitive market
Bishop Muhiirwa commended Pearl Bank for its innovation and the impressive setup of the new offices, as well as for entrusting the Diocese with hosting its operations.
He noted that the Diocese maintains partnerships with several financial institutions, including Centenary Bank, Yerya People’s SACCO, and Hofokam, and called for collaboration and healthy competition among them to ensure better service delivery to the public.

The Bishop also encouraged Pearl Bank to consider introducing additional services such as foreign exchange, given the city’s growing travel activity and the need for multiple currencies.
Meanwhile, Pearl Bank’s financial results for the year ending December 2025 indicate strong growth. Profit after tax increased by 34% to UGX 47.3 billion, customer deposits rose by 43% to UGX 1.42 trillion, and Wendi mobile wallet balances grew more than fivefold to UGX 240.5 billion.
