The Bunyoro‑Kitara authorities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Julita Coffee Works Limited, a private company, to boost coffee growing in the region.
The MOU has been signed today at the kingdom office
This partnership aims to uplift local coffee farmers by providing better farming techniques, market access, and investment in coffee production.
The MOU opens doors for new jobs, farmer training programs, and improved coffee quality, which could put Bunyoro‑Kitara coffee on Uganda’s national market map and increase incomes for local families.
Andrew Kirungi Byakutaga, the prime minister of BKK welcomed the initiative assuring support to the company and people of Bunyoro.
Byakutaga challenged the people of Bunyoro to utilize this chance to improve their livelihoods calling for hard work.
Mr Micheal Julius Tumwebaze, managing director JULITA, says the partnership will improve the coffee production in Bunyoro, adding that this partnership will make the voice of the company bolder and create more connection to the people of Bunyoro.
He revealed that increase the coffee production of the people of Bunyoro by 50% by 2035
