Rev.Fr James Burasa CSC, the Outgoing Parish priest Kyarusozi has issued a warning to a section of Christians who falsely accuse priests of only burying the deceased from rich families.
Addressing the Congregation yesterday gathered at the parish premises in Kyenjojo District to bid farewell to Fr Emmanuel Isabirye CSC who worked in Kyarusozi for four years, Fr Burasa explained disappointment in some of the Christians who fail to follow the right procedure of requesting for Masses for their deceased and in turn when they find all the priests occupied they conclude with false accusations of segregation.
He clarified that their work as priests is to not to segregate in color, tribe economic status of their Christians, but rather to promote equality and justice for all, some thing they have truly done in their ministry.
According to Burasa, Some Christians fail to understand that priests have other responsibilities other than burying, especially in what he described as a busy parish of Kyarusozi yet with few priests and so they expect quick yes respond without thinking of the other responsibilities.
He Commended the priests he has worked with in Kyarusozi, Fr Emmanuel Isabirye CSC, Fr Julius Mumbere, Fr Deus, Fr Novert Ogezi among others who truly shared the responsibility of ministries in such a busy parish.
In the same Mass, Fr Burasa took the opportunity to officially unveil his successor In the capacity of parish priest, Fr Innocent Ahunuriza CSC, who was ordained into priesthood at Kyarusozi parish by Bishop Robert Muhiirwa in 2024.
