President Yoweri Museveni has assured Tooro Kingdom that the government is ready to work with the successor to the late Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV once the succession process is concluded.
The President made the remarks in a message delivered by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, during the final send-off of King Oyo at St. John’s Cathedral.
President Museveni said that once the issues surrounding the selection of a new king are resolved, the government will be ready to work with the successor in the same way it worked with the late King Oyo.
The President appealed to the Batooro to resolve the current succession dispute through peaceful and lawful means, while prioritizing unity over division.
