As schools across the country begin the third term, Fort Portal City education authorities have organized a special training for teachers handling candidate classes as one of the measures to improve learners’ performance in the forthcoming final examinations.
The training is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday next week and will bring together teachers and curriculum experts who will provide teachers with skills and tips on how to prepare learners for the final examinations.
Equipping Teachers
Speaking to Jubilee Radio, the Fort Portal City Education Officer, John Bosco Tumwesigye, said the training is intended to equip teachers with better approaches to help learners perform well in their final examinations.
Tumwesigye said teachers have also been encouraged to start teaching immediately and make maximum use of the remaining term.
He further urged schools to revise mock examination papers done by learners in Fort Portal City, Rwenzori Diocese, Fort Portal Diocese and other districts to identify learners’ weaknesses and address them before the final examinations.
He said timely teaching, revision and proper preparation of candidates will be key to improving examination performance in the city.
