A Month At School – Medical Students Waiting For Covid-19 Vaccination

Kabooha

Medical students have remained unvaccinated close to a month after they reported back to school despite government’s commitment to provide vaccines upon arrival.

In a ministry of health reopening circular to medical schools, the ministry had committed itself to vaccinate medical students upon arrival at their different schools but up to now vaccination remains at large.

Ruhweza Patrick the FINS medical university secretary told us that they have waited for government to fulfill its commitment in vain, prompting them to instruct learners to go for private vaccination at nearby vaccination center.

According to Ruhweza the institution is operating g normally despite the limited number regulated by the ministry of education.

Last month when medical schools were reopening the Rev. Sister Nansamba Agnes the principle of Virika School of Nursing and Midwifery noted that they had not received jabs to vaccinate learners upon arrival but were in connection with Fort Portal regional referral hospital.
