The contractor responsible for the renovation of Our Lady of Snows Virika Cathedral, Ambitious Company Limited, officially handed over the completed work to the Diocese of Fort Portal on January 30, 2025. The project, valued at 3.6 billion, was successfully completed.
Excellet work done
Msgr. Isaiah Mayombo Adyeri, the Chairperson of the Virika Cathedral Renovation Committee doubling as the Vicar General of the Diocese, expressed satisfaction with the final result, noting that it met the Diocese’s expectations.
He explained that the contractor had conducted a pre-inspection on November 28, 2024, to finalize some details, and today the full project was handed over. He also stressed that the work was overseen by Arch Design, who confirmed that it aligned with the original plans and design.

To mark the completion, the contractor was awarded a certificate of practical completion as the Diocese awaits Re-dedication ceremony which is planned for March 2, 2025.
More funds required
While the project has been handed over, Msgr. Mayombo mentioned that the Diocese still has an outstanding debt. He encouraged the faithful to continue their generous contributions to help settle the remaining balance promptly.
