Residents of Rutooma village, Kyamurari ward, Bugongi town council, in Sheema district were on Monday night thrown into shock after a fellow was attacked by unknown assailants who left her with serious injuries between life and death.
Jane Kirabo, 65, who is currently nursing wounds at Hope Medical Centre known to many as AMG Bugongi told our reporter that assailants raided her house, broke one of the doors forcing her to make an alarm that attracted residents for her rescue.
According to Boaz Tumuramye who rescued Kirabo from the hands of the assailants says that the assailants took off immediately after sending that residents were coming for her rescue.
Kirabo adds that she survived the first panga cut that got stuck in the mosquito net. She narrates that at this point, she got held on one of the attackers private parts as she made an alarm crying for help.
“They tild me that they wanted to nothing else from me apart from life” Kirabo narrated.
Pathias Mukwategye, the Rutooma central LC1 chairperson told our reporter that Kirabo is a peasant who uses her hands to make baskets stressing that the assailants could have been looking for money from her.
Dr. Richard Kisembo, a doctor at AMG Bugongi said that they have managed to do some first aid on the patient and advised them to seek for more specialised attention from Either Kampala International University Hospital or Kitagata.
According to Kisebo, Kirabo sustained serious injuries on her back-bone, chest and the knees.
