A total of nine [9] Banyatereza Novitiates, have yesteray publicly professed their first religious vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience which initiated them into Sisterhood.
This, was at the Formation center for Daughters of St. Theresa, in the Immaculate Conception Chapel Yerya parish, Bunyangabu district Fort Portal Diocese, in a ceremony led by the Vicar general, Msgr. Isiah Mayombo Adyeri who was delegated by Bishop Muhiirwa.
The new Sisters
Those that professed the very first religious vows include Sisters Naume Komugisha, Annitah Akankwatsa, Catherine Nyakato, Elizabeth Biira, Victoria Biira, Maureen Akorabirungi, Rose Mary Nyangoma, Scholastica Kitinisa, and Annet Kabasinguzi.
Msgr Mayombo calls for obedience
In his homily to Congregants as regards to the Feast day of immaculate conception, Msgr. Mayombo urged the sisters to be obedient throughout their uneasy calling, following the example of Mother Mary ‘s obedience to God’s call of accepting to carry Jesus Christ in her Womb.
“We congratulate the new sisters upon the step achieved in their lives. The journey you have started is not an easy one but pray and encourage you to serve God whole heartedly and to entrust everything with him who has chosen you among the many.” Said Msgr.Mayombo.
Mastering the congregation constitution
Sr. Seraphine Kaitesirwa, the Banyatereza Supreme mother, appealed to the bride sisters to be form-able and open to learning, but most importantly to master the constitution of the congregation that they received in person today.

According to the Mother general,the new sisters were given a copy of the congregation constitution individually composing of laws and guidelines to guide them through out their religious life and that it would forecast their stay in the congregation of daughters of St.Theresa.
“You are not young any more. You are now grown-ups you are going to be accountable for the responsibilities you are yet to be given.I urge you to be open to learning always and to master the constitution for that will determine your stay in the congregation.” Sr. Kaitesirwa to the newly professed Sisters.
Mr. Kizito Zikanshagyiza hailing from Bisozi parish, on behalf of parents to the new sisters, lauded the trainers upon the good work imparted into their daughters and encouraged the bride sisters to carry on their crosses with patience throughout their religious life.
The bride sisters were grateful to all persons whose combined efforts brought them to the holy altar and their parents for the immense support in their long journey.

Extend your services to families
Also the Vicar general in his later speech, noted that the enhancement of the congregation should remind sisters of extending the good news of God back to the families, putting into consideration the current loopholes in many homes.

He also went on to encourage the new sisters to seek God’s guidance from day one of their vocation.
According to Msgr. Mayombo, many families are currently facing many challenges including spiritual ones and the sister leaders could consider extending their services to them for betterment of the communities.
The new sisters, brought the number of the entire Fort Portal based congregation to 409 and the Banyatereza recently lost a sister in her 90s about a month ago.
