The Xaverian movement of Fort Portal Catholic Diocese is nationally ranked among the top three Xaverian movements in the nation.
The news has been sounded by the Xaverian movement National Leader, Mr.Benedicto Kiwanuka from Kampala Archdiocese, during the festive gathering of Xaverians from various parishes, convened at McCauley Hall on Virika Hill to celebrate their Feast day.
Mr. Kiwanuka attributed the remarkable success of the movement to the unwavering support provided by Rt. Rev. Robert K. Muhiirwa Akiiki, the Bishop of Fort Portal Diocesewho has always genuinely supported and encouraged the Xaverians.
The Diocesan Xaverian leader, Rev.Bro. Fred Baguma, on the very function extended gratitude to the collective support rendered to them for the success of the day.
He revealed that the climax of their celebrations comes after a three days retreat that took place in St.Adolf Ongoing Formation Center Mukabura,that brought together 80 Xaverians from across the Diocese, providing them with valuable opportunities to acquire diverse skills.
Addressing the gathering, the Youth Chaplain of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Paul Mugabyomu, emphasized the importance of not only striving for faith but also working diligently to secure financial stability. This, he noted, would enable Xaverians to support their families and contribute meaningfully to the church.
In his remarks, the day’s main Celebrant, Rev.Fr.Gerald Akugizibwe the Pastoral Coordinator who represented Bishop Muhiirwa, congratulated the Xaverians upon their faithful service to the church, especially the Xaverian jubilarians who were celebrating 25 and 50 years of serving the church via this movement.
In his speech read by Mr Clovice Mwesige, The Chief guest who is also an aspiring MP Burahya county Mr Joseph Mugenyi, hailed the diocese for the continued support to the Xaverian Movement, tasking them to keep up the trust.
As a gesture of support,he pledged a cow.
