Bishop Challenged with losing Young priests
In his 20 years service as the Bishop of Fort Portal catholic diocese, Muhiirwa expressed his disappointment in losing young priests hence calling upon Christians to embrace the call for priesthood.
According to him, the death of young priests leaves a big gap in their service, noting that the spiritual workload is Alot compared to the number of priests.
Despite the registered loss of young priests, The Bishop is thankful to God for the number of priests he has ordained since his assumption into office, and that the number is encouraging.
Parents advised to nurture Children in Church movements
As a way of positively upbringing them, the Bishop tasked parents to encourage their children to join lay apostolate movements like holy childhood, xaverian, legion of Mary among others to help them to strengthen their faith.
He also asked parents to join Family based church movements including Kaana, Uganda Catholic Women Association (UCWA) and Uganda Catholic men Association, which he believes will equip them with prior knowledge on heading peaceful and healthy families.
Rev. Fr. John Tumuhairwe the Chancellor Fort Portal Catholic diocese, congratulated Bishop Muhiirwa upon the twenty years of Episcopate and promised to keep praying for him in his service.
