The Buhweju district administration has closed its headquarters for seven days due to concerns of the increasing cases of COVID-19.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Paul Walakira, in a letter dated December 01, 2020, to all the administration staff, said all the premises will remain closed for one week starting December 02.
Walakira said the district taskforce had also directed that all positive cases undergo isolation and treatment as guided by the district case management team.
In the letter copied to the RDC, LC5 Chairman, all head of departments, the DPC, and all sub-county and Town Councils, he directed the fumigation of all the headquarters premises within the closure period.
The CAO, however, said all sub-county offices, schools, and health centres will remain open and operating.
The district will intensify surveillance and contact tracing.
