The LCV Chairman Bunyangabu District, James Ategeka Mugarama, has cautioned residents against misusing government property.
This was during the launch of dispatching equipment to Village Health Team Members (VHTs) of Nyakigumba town council and Kisomoro sub-county.
Mugarama, in the same function observed that people are given health equipment like mosquito nets, only to find the same nets in gardens doing contrary work.
“You can’t believe it that sometimes people use mosquito nets distributed by Government as shades in people’s gardens which is very unfortunate,” he said.
He encouraged the VHTs to use this equipment that have received in an appropriate way such that they are able to serve their intended purpose.
According to Swizen Kutambaki, the Deputy CAO Bunyangabu District, VHTs are entrusted by government to give first aid at the grassroot level. Which he says this calls for commitment and selflessness.
“In the medical profession, commitment, selflessness and passion are key in service delivery, so be mindful of this in whatever you do,” remarked Swizen
Dr. Richard Obeti, the DHO Bunyangabu explained that the health kit that was given to VHTs, contains a thermometer, mask, gumboots, a job aid, apron, T-shirt and a bag among others.
He thanked the VHTs for the work well done and asked them to continue extending these to the deepest person in the villages whenever need arise.
