Drama engulfed as Christians from different districts flocked to Bunyangabu district at Kanyerire hill, Kabonero Sub -County, following rumors of Mother Mary apparitions at the scene.
Our reporter who visited the scene, found people who had traveled as distant as Kasese, Kyenjojo, Kabarole, Fort portal, Bundibugyo among others, praising the lord and praying.
Engaging with these pilgrims, our reporter discovered a profound faith in the purported appearance of Mother Mary, as evidenced by inscriptions on stones, depictions of her likeness, symbolic doves, and sacred vessels like the chalice.
Christians on Mother Mary
Gilbert Alituha, a resident of Karago in Fort Portal North Division, shared with us how a friend’s account spurred him to make the journey and see the apparitions firsthand.
“I’ve seen everything I was told, especially the symbolic pictures etched on stones like the rosary, chalice, fish, lamb, and more. My faith has been greatly strengthened,” he remarked.
Joseph Tusiime, another pilgrim, emphasized that the apparitions of Mother Mary are indeed real, but they are only experienced by those who approach the place with genuine faith.
One local resident who preferred anonymity, recounted how three individuals approached the landowner, an army officer, to gain access to a portion of his land believed to harbor miraculous events.
What Catholic leaders said
