A devastating accident in Bunyangabu District resulted in the deaths of a couple after their house collapsed on them. The tragic incident occurred yesterday on Tuesday at around 6:30 p.m. in Rubalika B cell, Kakinga Town Council, according to local reports.
The Victims
No statement from police yet, but the victims identified by LC1 Chairperson Mohammed Nkwasibwe, were Ivan Musinguzi a casual laborer originally from Bushenyi District, and Kellen Tukwasibwe, a local resident, who were both caught in the disaster.
Josephat Muwonge, a student who witnessed the aftermath, reported that the house collapsed following a severe downpour and hailstorm. Muwonge first discovered Musinguzi’s arm and realized he had perished, then found Tukwasibwe’s body and alerted others.
Remegius Turyahebwa, LC3 of Kakinga Town Council, described the incident as deeply unfortunate and noted that other residents also experienced damage to their homes as an effect of the hailstorm. Among the other things that were damaged include crops, livestock and houses
