Bunyangabu Residents Eagerly Await Minister Katumba Wamala’s Response to Kasunganyanja Accident Concerns

Authorities urged to utilize the opportunity and take the minister and other expected guests at the spot and demand government to erect the sharp Conner which has claimed countless lives in mortar accidents every month

Ahead of Bishop Patrick Kyaligonza Road Safety Campaign Commemoration this Sunday 11th February 2024 at Rwimi COU in Bunyangabu district, Residents are anticipating the invited chief guest who is also Minister for Works and Transport Gen.
Katumba Wamala to address the sharp Conner located at Kasunganyanja trading center which has acted as accident death trap for decades without applicable solution from authorities.
Patrick Kyaligonza an Anglican Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese was born in 1960 and died in 2010 in a motor accident in Kaswa along the Fort Portal, Kampala High way while heading to Kyenjojo district to attend burial of his relative.
Albert Musinguzi Kaliruga a Political Activist and resident of Mujunju parish in Bunyangabu district says residents are optimistic that the minister will give answers about the Kasunganyanja bloodshed spot that has claimed lives and left many injured in a lifetime of years for his visit to be considered meaningful.
Kaliruga wants relevant district Authorities to utilize the opportunity and take the minister and other expected guests at the spot and demand government to erect the sharp Conner which has claimed countless lives in mortar accidents every month
At the time of his death, the Bishop was travelling with his wife, Diocesan Chaplain and Driver to attend a burial of his relative in Katooke, Kyenjojo district when their car lost control and rolled several times. The Bishop passed away on spot while his wife Rose Kyaligonza and the driver Mark Ahuura sustained serious injuries
      About Bishop Kyaligonza
He was consecrated as Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese on February 22, 2009 at St. John’s Cathedral Fort Portal. He was just 11 days away from his 1st consecration anniversary celebrations. He was survived by the widow and three (3) children aged 9, 8 and 3 years.
Several road safety sensitization campaigns are ongoing in Bunyangabu district.
