Cases of Theft Worryingly Increasing in Kabarole & Fort Portal

Residents hailing from Fort Portal city and Kabarole district have expressed concern over increased cases of theft.

Speaking to our reporter, the residents have stated that they are spending sleepless nights guarding their properties following the recent incidences.

 

 

 

According to them, thieves have terrorized their areas by stealing their domestic birds, animals like goats on top of breaking into their houses.

 

 

 

One John Mugisa, a resident of Karago ward North division Fort Portal city, has told us that security operative’s have focused on armed robbery but forgotten other offences or crime.

 

 

Thieves have reached an extent of  stealing our animals in broad daylight without any fear, what of the night, wont they carry us too?

 

 

 

A One Kajumba, hailing from Busoro Sub-County has told us that thieves have started breaking their houses by alliterating them (developing holes) and later entering the house to steal.

 

 

 

Security begins with you

Meanwhile, the Rwenzori West police spokesperson Vincent Twesigye, has said that police are doing night patrols to curb the problem.

 

Twesigye notes that security starts with an individual therefore they should be security conscious as police does community policing.

 

 

 

The areas with high theft cases include, Kiguma,kitaka,kazingo,Bukuku,Gweri and in Rwengaju,kidbuli,kirere,Top hill among others.
