Clients banking at the Centenary Bank Fort Portal branch can now enjoy a more seamless experience, courtesy of the newly launched corporate wing, which will help alleviate long queues for services.
This remarkable development follows the inauguration and blessing of the corporate wing, located on the second floor of the Centenary building in Fort Portal, during a dinner yesterday attended by Centenary Group members, including clergy, business leaders, and other clients. The event also provided a platform for feedback on the quality of services offered by the bank.
Speaking at the launch dinner, Ms. Carol Oshabe, the Manager of Centenary Bank Fort Portal, explained that the new corporate wing was designed to address the congestion at the ground floor banking area while creating a more comfortable and pleasant environment for corporate clients. Oshabe, who praised the Diocese of Fort Portal for constructing the current modern banking facility, emphasized that the decision to provide distinct services for clients stemmed from requests by customers seeking a more private and comfortable banking experience.
Representing the Managing Director Centenary Bank, Amos Aine, the chief Manager Credit Quality Control, praised the Fort Portal branch for its leadership in credit repayment nationwide, commending their role in facilitating timely repayments and ensuring that funds are available for other customers to borrow.
Embracing Digital Banking
Benard Bakole, the In-charge of E-banking in Fort Portal, encouraged clients to embrace online banking, noting that it not only saves time but also aligns with the new normal of digital banking.
Representing the clients, Mr. Richard Rwabuhinga, the District Chairperson of Kabarole, who has been a loyal customer of the bank for over 20 years, commended Centenary Bank for its exceptionally reliable and efficient services. He also acknowledged the bank’s collaboration with the government in initiatives such as the distribution of PDM funds, GROW money for women, and providing loans to boost local economic development.
Improved Services
In his speech as the Chief Guest, Bishop Robert Muhiirwa Akiiki, the Ordinary of Fort Portal Diocese that owns the Centenary Bank building, blessed the new facility and expressed confidence that all clients will now enjoy being served while seated, without the congestion of the past.
He commended the bank’s efforts in prioritizing customer service and its success in being a leading credit payer nationwide.
However, Bishop Muhiirwa urged Centenary Bank to address the issue of foreign exchange for East African currencies, such as the Rwandan franc, Kenyan shilling, and Tanzanian shilling, to prevent clients from facing difficulties at border crossings.
