The construction of Buhinga stadium in Kabarole and Fort portal city has commenced with a feasibility study and environmental assessment set to undergo 90 days and will cost 568Million shillings.
This was launched by the State Minister For Sports Hamson Dennis Obua at the district headquarters central division fort portal city.
Buhinga stadium is going to be constructed alongside Akibua Stadium in Lira district. The stadium is a grant from the Republic of China.
Buhinga Stadium that is going to be located in Kyembogo Datic Rwengaju parish Kabarole District will accommodate 60,000 people.
According to Obua, the feasibility study should commence immediately from Monday to Sunday thus warning the consultancy firm to do the reasonable work with accountability.
Richard Rwabuhinga the district chairperson disclosed that the stadium will be seated on 43 acres of land which will be helped in identifying talents and promotion among the youths in the area and transforming the district, region and community once completed.
The commissioner physical , Education and sports in the Ministry of Education Lamex Omara Apita who represented the Permanent Secretary has asked the Kabarole district local government to monitor the project thus it should be completed in the stipulated time.
