According to the district chairperson, Joseph Karungi, farmers get loans to invest in agriculture hoping for better output, often meet challenges with the crops they invest in due to poor research.
“You should always invest acquired agriculture loans on the crop you have thoroughly researched about rather than investing it any how” Warned Karungi.
James Turyaheebwa, the general secretary Kamwenge district farmers advocacy platform, who also represented the platform chairperson, asked farmers to own the platform that will help them to share their challenges in order to be addressed.
He hailed National Alliance of Agricultural Co-operatives in Uganda ltd for supporting farmers with advocacy platforms.
