On Friday evening, Fire gutted a hotel belonging to Sheema Municipality MP, Dicksons Kateshumbwa.
Park View Hotel is located in Kicwamba Sub County, Rubirizi District in western Uganda.The fire is believed to have started in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
According to reports, at around 4pm, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) was burning bushes in Queen Elizabeth NP (as they always do when the rainy season comes close) but fire got out of control and spread.
It burned the safari lodge to ashes, destroying 15 cottages and a restaurant structure.The fire destroyed property worth millions of shillings.
