Following the recent murder that saw two dead bodies dumped at the premises of Catholic Town Church and Kabarole main Mosque along Laggard Road in Fort portal City, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Baguma of St. Charles Lwanga Town parish in Fort Portal has come out to speak about the incidents.
The cases
The rising number of murder cases in the area, started on Monday last week with the death of a 23-year-old Sarah Ahaisibwe, a mobile money agent who was killed at her home in Rwengoma while the other two, one an unknown man and the third, later identified as Paul Bahizi Rutabagisha 50, left residents and authorities in an insecurity panic after their bodies were discovered near a catholic church and mosque respectively.
Catholic priest speaks out
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Baguma, the parish priest of St. Charles Lwanga, Town parish says that, they were on Saturday 25th November 2022 morning thrown into panic after a second body of an unknown man was found lying in the premises of Kabarole main mosque barely a day after another body was recovered in the entrance of St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church

After police investigations the second body was hours later identified as Paul Bahizi Rutabagisha aged about 50 and suspected to be working with Kagadi District Health Office.
According to Sheikh Tibenda Swaibu of Kabarole main Mosque, it was a fateful day at home when he received a phone call from from their security guard that there is a dead body of a man dumped in the premises of the mosque. After confirming the information, he informed police which came at the scene immediately.
Fr. Baguma, is also quick to add that cases of murder and theft are common during festive seasons hence asking everyone to be vigilant.
