The Bishop of the Fort Portal diocese Rt Rev Robert .K. Muhiirwa Akiiki, has challenged the youths to respect their parents, especially the aged.
This was revealed at the thanksgiving of Rev. Fr. Aloysius Imaniragaba’s 11 years of priesthood, And the 63yrs of the holy marriage of his parents Mr. Deogracious and Miss Gorreti, which was held on grounds of Kahungye Primary school in Kahungye Sub-county, Ndorwa West Constituency Kabale district.
Youth cautioned on handling the aged
Bishop Muhiirwa in his homily to congregants gathered at the thanksgiving, urged the youths to be compassionate and kind towards the elderly.
His Lordship added that people lose energy as they grow old, attributing the responsibility to the youth who ought to support them in accessing Medical services and other necessities in Life.
Nonetheless, Bishop noted that blessings and wisdom start from the parents, given the fact that they have experienced life differently, especially in the previous era. He for this matter appealed to the youth to embrace such wisdom from the elderly, to be in a position to make informed decisions in life.
He further challenged the youths not to be overtaken by earthly pleasures saying that life on earth is very short
The Kabale District Woman Mp, Hon. Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire challenged the parents to Educate all the children saying that the boy child has been neglected.
She further urged the public to embrace better farming methods to control the running waters in hilly areas of kigezi most especially in this rainy season.
Hon. Atwakiire, later on, contributed 500,000 Shillings towards the construction of the Fr Aloysius souvenir house.
The state minister for trade, industry, and cooperatives Hon. David Bahati who was represented by the Kabale Woman Mp Hon Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire donated 100 iron sheets towards the construction of the souvenir house.
The Kabale district Chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija, called upon minister Tumwebaze, to intervene and have the roads in the district rehabilitated. He further contributed 10bags of Cement
