The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC party has been evicted from their offices in Fort-portal over rent arrears.
On February 17th 2021 the party secretary general for Fort-portal and Kabarole district David Musinguzi told Jubilee radio that the landlord had closed their offices over the same issue but leaders at the top were doing nothing to save the situation.
However on Thursday 4th March 2021 in the morning our reporter visited that area and found out that the party was evicted from the house some days back and other people were occupying the room.
According to one of the neighbors that requested names to be withheld, some officials from the party last week came and shifted the belongings before other people started rearranging the room.
The Fort-portal offices have been acting as coordinating center for Tooro/Rwenzori Region that covers Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko and Fort-portal city among others.
Recently David Musinguzi the party secretary general accused party leaders at National level for being careless about the incident saying arrears had accumulated to 900,000 shillings.
