The FDC Tooro Sub-region, under the Katonga faction, has initiated a signature campaign to register their new party, the People’s Front for Freedom PFF. Musinguzi David, the coordinator for FDC Katonga Tooro, stated that collecting signatures is a requirement set by the electoral commission for new party registration.
This nationwide effort he added, began today, with each district expected to gather atleast 50 signatures.
Visiting all Districts
According to Musinguzi, the team will be visiting all districts in the Tooro Sub-region, including Kyegegwa, Kabarole, Fort Portal, Kitagwenda, Ntoroko, and Bunyangabu, with registration forms available for the public to sign.
He urged community members to participate, emphasizing that their support is vital for restoring governance in Uganda and addressing the challenges posed by President Museveni’s leadership.
The FDC Katonga faction has been critical of the current FDC leadership, accusing it of failing to effectively oppose the ruling NRM government since 1986. Dr. Kiiza Besigye has been a prominent figure in this faction, expressing strong dissatisfaction with the party’s direction and adherence to its founding principles.
