Cyril Kamusiime the HIV/Aids Focal person at Fort portal Regional Referral Hospital has advised HIV/Aids patients of Fort-portal to form groups in their respective villages in order to easily access their medicine

Kamusiime said that forming village groups shall help to reduce congestion in hospitals, save transport, reduces stigma in patients and they can also make SACCOs for financial support

According to Kamusiime under this arrangement medical workers can deliver ARV’s medicine to their respective villages or alternatively they can choose amongst themselves one person who can pick their medicine from hospitals

He added that when patients form groups health workers take responsibilities of visiting them and taking services such as Viral Load testing, Guidance and Counseling among others

Catherine Kemigabo the Kabarole district health educator speaking to reporters emphasized the need to follow covid19 preventive guidelines

Kemigabo called upon the general public to embrace  putting on face masks, wash hands with water and soap, keep a distance of 2mitres from each other and avoid touching their soft parts such as nose, eyes and the mouth.
