North division leadership together with the police have embarked on community mobilization and security meetings in a bid to curb crimes.
According to Joseph Mashuhuko the division Mayor, the team has resolved to community engagement and security meetings as the possible solutions to the prevailing criminality in the area.
Increased Criminality
Mayor Mashuhuko, revealed to us that the residents from the division have recently expressed concern over increased cases of theft, murder, among others.
He has also explained that the majority have expressed concern over the youths who have terrorized them by stealing their domestic animals, broke into their houses, and burglary among others.
Mashuhuko further explained that, late last month which was April 2023, about 3 mob justice cases resulting from theft were reported in the North division.
” We shall increase night patrols until the problem is solved.” Noted Mashuhuko
Public warned on mob justice
The North division mayor further discouraged the public from taking laws into their hands.
He rather advised them to always report any cases to relevant authorities.
