The woman Member of Parliament Linda Irene Mugisa has warned the youth against the devilish groups recruiting and initiating them into homosexuality and transgender activities.
She sounded the warning while speaking as chief guest at the closure of a four days youth conference for Virika cathedral parish that has been ongoing since Thursday at St. Adolf ongoing Formation Center Mukabura in Fort Portal City.
According to Linda, various groups are heavily funded to spoil the new generation and are currently targeting the youth. Linda who delivered sports jersey for Virika parish football team, also advised young ones to respect their parents if they want to succeed in future.
Stella Nalubega the parish youth leader, highlighted challenges faced by the youth in the their parish among others lack of a parish youth center because Mukabura is too expensive, lack of income generating projects, laziness among the youth, lack of parents support and some catechists in out stations who undermine their capabilities whenever they express willingness to participate in church activities and programs.
Rev. Fr. Francis Musiime Gentle, the Virika parish Youth Chaplain informed invited guests that the conference that attracted more than 900 youths has been a total success hence appreciating all people that participated and supported especially the organizing committee.
