The call has been made by the district health educator Catherine Kemigabo following the outcry from parents over an increased number of school going children on cough and flu after reopening of schools.
Several parents have complained of their children suffering from cough expressing fears that it might be covid 19 and schools are quiet about it.
While speaking to our reporter, Kemigabo stated that this might be anormal cough but school heads and parents should be very observant and cautious totheir children.
Muhenda Steven the health educator Fort Portal city has confirmed that they have received complaints from parents but further tasked school owners to report any case to health personnel.
However, the inspector of schools has said that as the education department has asked teachers to isolate learners who may present signs of covid 19 from other learners, and continue to follow the SOPs.
