The regional offices of opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC located along Ruhandika Street in Fort-portal City have been closed by landlord over rent arrears.
The situation which has lasted for more than a month has paralyzed party business in the Tooro/Rwenzori Region since the offices act as coordination center for areas of Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko and Fort-portal city among others.
When contacted by Jubilee reporter David Musinguzi the party secretary general confirmed that incident and accused party leaders at National level for being careless about the incident yet the money is accumulating.
Musinguzi says party activities have been put on halt in the region hence appealing to the party authorities to respond immediately. He said the party National Executive Committee passed a resolution recommending each of the 20 sub-regions of Uganda to have party offices.
Building of party structures at parish and village level has not been implemented in the past 20years because of the poor approach on issues by top party leaders according to Musinguzi hence poor performance.
