The office of the division mayor Fort Portal north division has
petitioned the minister of lands, housing and urban development over
delayed issuing of land tittles  for the tenants of those living on the
land compensated by the government so as to protect them against any
future inconveniences.

In a letter dated 23rd September 2021, Joseph Mashuhuko, the north
division mayor asserts that his office has received complaints and even
intervened in issues where many compensated landlords are threatening
to evict the bonafide occupants which has created worries.

Mashuhuko also says that some landlords dodge to receive Busuru and
end up using it as a legal ground to evict tenants from the land.
The government of Uganda using land fund compensated Zeuliya Katwire
for 40.39 hectares of land in Bulera Kitarasa, winyi Christopher
158.78 hectares in Burungu, Mwesige George Sharp 79.48 hectares in
Ibonde, Gilbert Mujogya 36.91 hectares in Gweri Kadali and Ekodeo
Edith 47.5 hectares in Butangwa.

However the leaders led by Mashuko says, they are not happy seeing the
same individuals threatening residents yet government bout their land
for the locals.
