The Fort Portal diocese Christians in Kampala and outside Fort Portal have immensely contributed funds to aid in the ongoing preparations ahead of Martyr’s day celebrations.
The diaspora Christians, live in areas of Kampala, Jinja, Wakiso, Entebbe and neighboring districts, but come together under Keji-Foda irrespective of their religions.
Fr Fred Tusingire, the Chaplain of Fort Portal Christians in diaspora has revealed to us in an interview that the diaspora Christians have portrayed a positive response in the recently successfully concluded events.
Fr Tusingire, notes the support and enthusiasm of Christians at the fundraisings including AMDA mass at Kitante P/S, Mass at Parliament, the Keji- Foda mass at Kitante, and the Fundraising dinner at Protea hotel Kampala.

Much as these functions yielded over 218 million shillings, Fr Tusingire calls upon fellow Christians in Fort portal diocese to join efforts in collecting the remaining balance, as yet to be revealed by the Finance committee for the Preparations.
The available amount
Fr. Fred anticipates, that about 200 million could still be needed to make the 1billion shillings required.
Last week, Fr. Charles Oyo the chair person organizing committee for 3rd June 2022, revealed to us that 700 million (70%)had been secured already following the biggest contribution from Gen.Museveni.
Fr. Muhumuza when contacted, could not establish the exact figures, noting that the money is still being compiled, but promised to keep the public posted any time the final figure is confirmed.
General secretary Keji-Foda Stephen Alinaitwe, has on behalf of diaspora Christians pledged to push the campaign of ‘Turamage Namugongo’ country wide including arranging a dinner in Fort Portal to solicit the remainig balance.
Alinaitwe, who heads the publicity committee as well, has revealed their next move as reaching out to non governmental organizations- NGO’s one by one and seek their financial support towards celebrations.
