Mourners who included Christians, relatives, clergy and political leaders have today thronged Kaswa Anglican Church of Uganda for the burial of Rev. John Lubega.
The deceased 58 died on Wednesday at Kabarole hospital in Fort-portal city succumbing to diabetes. At the time of his death he was serving as parish priest Kyabagonza church of Uganda Nyantungo Archdeaconry in Kyenjojo district.
While presiding over the requiem service at Kaswa Church of Uganda on Friday the Right Rev. Bishop Reuben Kisembo of Ruwenzori Diocese pleaded with mourners to control their bodies from temptation and fight Satan. After the service the congregation proceeded to his ancestral home in Kaswa where he was later buried amidst shedding tears.
He survived with a wife and four children plus ten grandchildren.
Rev. Joel Manyindo of Kihumuro church of Uganda Kyenjojo district described the fallen fellow as loving, friendly and above all a personal friend who even weeded him and his wife in church.
Before death Rev. Lubega served as parish priest in several places like Kiburara, Kitumba and Kasunganyanja among others.
