The City Mayor Fort Portal His Worship Asaba Edison Ruyonga has challenged the youths to use the internet gainfully instead of listening to music and chatting on whatsapp and facebook.
Speaking during the official launch of Jumia at Momo Restaurant in Mpanga Market, Ruyonga said the time of making millions of shillings through farming and transport as an individual is long gone, adding that the only way now is embracing and concentrating on technology.
The mayor says with Jumia now in Fort Portal, the youths should use it as an eye opener not only for employment but a stepping stone towards making their own businesses as well. He said his office was at Jumia’s disposal for any help.
Mr Joseph Arthur Mukisa the Jumia City Manager Fort Portal implored the people in Fort Portal and surrounding areas to embrace Jumia products which they can conveniently pick up and pay for at their outlets in Fort Portal.
Mukisa also says that discounts of up to 70% will be on every black Friday effective the 5th November until the end of November.
