Kabarole Authorities Worried By Covid-19 Patients Loitering In Public Places.

By Augustine Byaruhanga Kabooha.

Kabarole authorities worried by covid-19 patients loitering in public places.

Authorities of Kabarole district have warned people who have tested positive for covid-19 against mixing with other people but instead go into self isolation.

According to reports some sick individuals refuse to go under isolation after testing positive in health facilities which put lives of residents at risk of contracting the virus.

During a district covid-19 taskforce meeting held at the district headquarters on Tuesday, it was reported that one person tested positive in Kabende sub-county but refuted the results and went ahead and opened his shop to conduct business as usual.

RDC Julian Ayesiga has threatened that such culprits risk facing penalties because it is a crime if someone intentionally transmits a disease to another person. Same cases have also happened in other places.

She says that health facilities will cooperate with VHTs in identifying and handling the culprits.

Brian Kisembo the acting DHO Kabarole says that such reports have been coming since the adoption of home based care was started but at the moment reports have increased.
