Bazira detailed the allocations including 10 billion shillings for education, 7 billion for health, 4 billion for administration, 1 billion for roads and engineering, 1 billion for production and marketing, and 417 million for natural resources, among other sectors.
LC5 Chairman Rwabuhinga Richard emphasized that next year’s budget priorities will include the construction of schools and health facilities, road development, and the protection of natural resources to prevent natural calamities. He urged all local leaders to work together to bring services closer to the people.
Speaker Ruhweza Timothy noted that the next year’s budget is 6 billion shillings less than this year’s. He stressed the importance of cooperation among leaders to foster development in Kabarole District.
This year’s Kabarole budget according to Ruwheza, has captured a reduction from 35 billion to 29 billion, a difference of 7 billion compared to the ending financial year 2023/24 due to phasing out of some sponsors and challenges in pension pay rolls of the previous years.
He also noted the need by politicians to double look through the budget before making impossible promises to the voters.
