The Kabarole District Councilor Hon. Alituha Geoffrey Kadabada has urged district leaders to address the poor road conditions in Harugongo Sub County, lamenting on the community’s struggles with impassable roads full of potholes.
During a meeting yesterday organized by Kabarole NGOs & CBOs Association (KANCA), residents, mainly farmers and small-scale business owners, voiced their concerns about the state of infrastructure, including roads, health centers, and water shortages.
They emphasized how the inadequate roads hinder access to essential services and markets, leading them to take matters into their own hands by contributing to the construction of a bridge for transportation.
Furthermore, locals expressed disappointment over unfulfilled promises from their leaders in matters to do with service delivery.
Peter Byakuyamba the Research and Advocacy Officer for KANCA emphasized the pivotal role of local governments in delivering services to the people, while advocating for community collaboration to drive development, particularly in agriculture.
In response to the community’s grievances, District Councilor Kamuhimbo Maureen assured residents that steps are being taken to address these challenges.
