Sylvia

The High Court of Fort Portal has adjourned the case involving persons with disabilities (PWDs) from Kabarole district to the 28th of March.

The PWDs, are accusing their council of mismanaging their property, misusing funds, and illegally appointing their chairperson.

Mugabo Charles, the chief petitioner, expressed concerns about grants which they have never received and lack of accountability for rent money from their property.

The PWD, also contest the illegal appointment of the chairperson by the LCV chairperson, Richard Rwabuhinga. Seeking legal redress, with an aim of understanding and achieving justice.

While some accused parties proposed out-of-court settlements, discussions are ongoing, with the next report scheduled for March 28, 2025.

Notably, the PWDs appeared before the High Court in the absence of the judge, leading to the adjournment for reading on the specified date
