The Executive Director Uganda Industry Research Institute Prof. Charles Kwesiga has disclosed that the Master Plan for the Kabarole Industrial Park is in final stages to be completed to pave way for its start.
He was speaking to District Leaders from Rwenzori, with consultant that is designing the industrial park master plan organized by Kabarole district and UIRI held at Kitumba Fort Portal.
In September 2018, Gen Salim Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation – OWC, launched the Kabarole Industrial Park in Kyembogo, Rwengaju Sub County with an aim of creating employment opportunities and promoting Agriculture value addition.
Richard Rwabuhinga the District Chairperson Kabarole says the industrial Park is a product of AGRILED for job creation and value addition where 7000 jobs been projected. He says the industrial park should not only focus on Agro processing but also manufacturing.
Rwabuhinga called for extension of tarmac to the site and the neighborhood to ease movements.
Alex Ruhunda the MP Fort Portal Central Division and Mrs Ayesiga Julian Sarah the RDC Kabarole realized the need for all stakeholders to embrace and support the industrial park for development.
